About Michael
Michael Throneberry trained first as an engineer, then turned to law. He earned a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Purdue University in 1994 and added an M.S. in Engineering from Marshall University in 1997. He completed his legal training at Washington University School of Law, receiving his J.D. in 2000.
Before law school he served with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, a role listed from 1992, where he worked on engineering projects and learned project management under field conditions. That technical background informed his later study of engineering and shaped the analytical approach he brought to legal education and practice.
Early entries in his legal career include work at a St. Louis law office in 1998. After graduating from law school in 2000, he became a member of the Illinois bar the same year and of the Missouri bar in 2001. He is also admitted to practice in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri.
Since 2001 he has been associated with Throneberry Law Group, where his practice has centered on mesothelioma and asbestos litigation. Casework in that area often requires blending an understanding of industrial processes, historical exposure pathways and medical timelines. His prior engineering training is relevant when examining site layouts, product designs and exposure records.
Throneberry is active in professional organizations that deal with trial practice and personal injury. His memberships include the Asbestos Mesothelioma Trial Lawyers Association, the American Institute of Personal Injury Lawyers, the American Association for Justice and the National Trial Lawyers Association. He is also a member of the Illinois State Bar Association and the Bar Association of Missouri. Those affiliations indicate ongoing engagement with developments in toxic tort law and trial procedure.
Colleagues describe him as methodical in preparing evidence and willing to work through complex technical records to assemble a case narrative. He has focused much of his practice on representing individuals affected by asbestos exposure, often coordinating expert testimony and historical research to establish causation and liability.
He maintains offices under the Throneberry Law Group name and litigates in state and federal courts tied to his admissions. He currently practices at Throneberry Law Group, handling mesothelioma and asbestos litigation.
