About Michael
Michael Springer moved from Texas to the Northeast to pursue law after a broad undergraduate education. He earned a B.B.A. from Texas A&M University, College Station, where he studied business, economics and political science and completed his undergraduate degree in 2009. He went on to Harvard Law School and received his J.D. in 2013.
His early years in the profession began at large national firms. After law school he joined Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP as an associate in 2013. That role provided exposure to complex institutional practice and the rhythms of major firm litigation. He later served as a law clerk to The Hon. William H. Pauley III in the Southern District of New York in 2016, an experience he has said sharpened his courtroom perspective and legal writing.
Following the clerkship he returned to firm practice as an associate at Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP in 2017. A year later he took a position as a lawyer at Truth in Advertising, an organization that focuses on consumer protection and advertising matters. Those moves show a transition from traditional firm practice into roles that placed him closer to public-interest and regulatory aspects of the law.
In 2018 he founded Springer Law PLLC and he is listed as the firm's principal. The new practice followed a period of varied experience: large-firm litigation, a federal clerkship and work on advertising-related legal issues. He also maintains active membership in the State Bar of New York and the New York State Bar Association; his association records list membership beginning in 2013 and continuing to the present.
Springer's career combines courtroom exposure, firm-based practice and nonprofit legal work. He is based in New York and has continued to operate his own practice since 2018. He handles matters that draw on his time at national firms, a federal clerkship and work with consumer advocacy organizations, and he practices from Springer Law PLLC in New York, where he focuses his current work on matters arising from those experiences.
