He then pursued his Juris Doctor at Wayne State University Law School, where he graduated in 1992.
During his time in law school, he held significant roles, including serving as Chief Judicial Clerk to the Honorable Steven N. Andrews of the Sixth Judicial Circuit Court in Michigan. Additionally, he worked as a Law Clerk for the Office of Legal Affairs at William Beaumont Hospital, gaining valuable insights into legal processes in the healthcare sector. After his admission to the Michigan State Bar in 1992, Mr. Sherman launched his legal career as the President of Michael I. Sherman, P.C. in the same year. From 2001 to 2023, he served as President of Sherman Immigration Lawyers, P.C., where he developed his skills in various immigration matters. In 2023, he took a significant step by founding Sherman Immigration, PLLC, where he continues to lead the firm as President. Mr. Sherman is an active member of the State Bar of Michigan and the District of Columbia Bar. His professional affiliations extend to the American Immigration Lawyers Association and the Oakland County Bar Association. In recognition of his contributions, he received the "Friend of the Oakland County Probate Court" award in 2004, an honor voted on by the staff of the Oakland County Probate Court.
