About Michael Scott

Michael Scott Sankey built a foundation in business before turning to law. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from St. Edward's University (2007), an MBA in Management from Sam Houston State University (2014) and a J.D. from Texas A&M University School of Law (2017). Those degrees arrived in sequence and shape his view of legal problems as both legal questions and practical business challenges.

After law school, Sankey entered private practice in Texas. Over time his background in management and business informed how he approaches client matters. He joined Clouthier Law as Of Counsel. In that role he provides legal insight that draws on his combined academic training in business and law.

Sankey maintains an active membership in the State Bar of Texas. He keeps current on developments that affect clients in the state. His academic record and ongoing bar engagement position him to handle matters that intersect commercial concerns and legal rules.

Colleagues describe him as methodical and exacting in preparing legal work. He spends significant time on research and drafting. He also supports client strategy discussions, translating legal issues into terms that executives and owners can use when making decisions. His MBA bears on these conversations; it gives him a working vocabulary for business metrics, risk assessment and operational priorities.

At Clouthier Law Sankey acts as a resource for complex matters that benefit from both legal training and business judgment. He consults on matters brought by the firm's clients, assists with pleadings and filings, and participates in case preparation. He works closely with other attorneys in the firm to assemble factual records and develop legal arguments.

Outside the office, he remains connected to professional networks in Texas. He attends continuing legal education programs and contributes to internal firm discussions on process and case strategy. This keeps his knowledge aligned with changes in state law and practice procedures.

He currently practices law in Texas as Of Counsel at Clouthier Law, maintaining an active membership in the State Bar of Texas.
