About Michael S.
Michael S. Litrenta built a legal career that moves between courtrooms and client conferences. He earned a J.D. from Barry University Dwayne O. Andreas School of Law in 2010 after completing a B.S. at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. The combination of Midwestern undergraduate training and a Florida law degree shaped an early professional path that mixed public service and private practice.
He began work in the 16th Judicial Circuit as a prosecuting lawyer in 2010. That early litigation experience put him on the front lines of criminal cases and gave him a sense of how state charges are prepared and presented. In 2012 he shifted to private practice as an associate at the Law Offices of Hal Schuhmacher, P.A., where he handled a variety of defense matters and gained experience representing clients outside the prosecutorial role.
After several years in that firm environment, Litrenta joined Dummit Fradin in 2017. His time there expanded his exposure to trial work and client advocacy. The next year he launched his own firm and became managing partner of Litrenta Law, PLLC, a move that placed him in charge of case strategy, client intake, and litigation decisions. Running a small firm required balancing courtroom time with administrative responsibilities and client communications.
Throughout his career he has maintained connections to professional organizations that reflect his practice interests. He is a member of the North Carolina Advocates for Justice and the Wisconsin Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. He belongs to the Monroe County Bar Association and has been active in the local Monroe County Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, serving as secretary from 2013 to 2014 and as president from 2014 to 2015. He was a member of the Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers from 2012 to 2016 and of the DUI Defense Lawyers Association from 2014 to 2016.
Those memberships mirror the kinds of cases he handles. His background includes prosecution and defense work, and he regularly represents clients facing criminal charges and DUI matters. Clients can expect someone who understands both sides of the aisle and who prepares for hearings and trials with practical attention to evidence and procedure. His practice style reflects time spent in court and time spent managing a small practice.
As of 2026 he practices through Litrenta Law, PLLC, concentrating on criminal defense and DUI representation.
