About Michael

Michael Murray began his professional journey in the classroom and built a steady legal career after law school. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in sociology from the University of Florida in 1997 and later received his Juris Doctor from St. Thomas University School of Law in 2004. Those years set the stage for a mix of public service and private practice that followed.

Soon after earning his J.D., Murray entered private practice. By 2005 he was a partner at Murray & Murray, an early leadership role that exposed him to case management, client work and the daily demands of a law office. The partnership years helped him develop practical courtroom experience and an understanding of the business side of running a firm.

He moved into public defense in 2010, joining the Miami-Dade Public Defender’s Office. That period added a heavy dose of trial work and client advocacy under pressure. In 2012 he took on the role of president at Murray & Silva, P.A., a position that combined administrative responsibilities with an ongoing docket of cases. Those roles show a career that crosses the line between public service and firm leadership.

Murray is admitted to practice in Florida and before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. He has been a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association since 2005, indicating engagement with immigration issues alongside his other work. His memberships have put him in contact with practitioners across state and federal practice areas and offered ongoing access to professional education.

Today he operates under the name Michael G. Murray, P.A. The office handles a range of matters that reflect the attorney’s background: defense work from his time as a public defender and immigration-related cases tied to his association memberships. He manages client files, appears in court at both trial and appellate levels, and oversees firm operations.

Colleagues and former clients describe Murray as pragmatic and steady. He does not court publicity. Instead he balances casework and firm responsibilities in a practice that draws on two decades of courtroom experience and organizational roles. His current practice focuses on immigration and criminal defense matters.
