About Michael
Michael Mee earned his J.D. from the UNLV William S. Boyd School of Law. He studied law in Las Vegas and moved into practice in Nevada after graduation. His legal education provided the foundation for a practice concentrated in criminal defense.
Mee became the owner of Liberators Criminal Defense in 2021. He opened the firm to provide representation for people facing criminal charges across the state. Since establishing the office, he has managed case intake, overseen trial preparation and handled courtroom matters for clients at various stages of criminal proceedings.
His day-to-day work involves investigating allegations, reviewing police reports and evidence, and advising clients on procedural options. He interviews witnesses, coordinates with experts when needed, and prepares motions and briefs for hearings. In court he advocates for clients during arraignments, bail hearings, plea negotiations and trial. He also continues to monitor developments in Nevada criminal law to help inform case strategy.
Colleagues describe Mee as practical and direct in his courtroom approach. He prefers clear, straightforward communication with clients about the risks and possible outcomes in their cases. That style extends to how he organizes files and prepares witnesses for testimony. He aims for thorough preparation rather than theatrical arguments.
Mee is admitted to practice law in Nevada. He runs his practice out of Liberators Criminal Defense and handles the administrative responsibilities that come with operating a small firm. Those duties include supervising casework, managing client communications and ensuring compliance with court deadlines.
Outside of specific casework, Mee keeps up with continuing legal education relevant to criminal practice. He follows changes in state statutes and appellate decisions that affect how defense attorneys frame challenges to evidence or procedure. He also works to maintain steady lines of communication with local prosecutors and court staff when cases require negotiation or scheduling.
He remains based in Nevada and continues to accept criminal defense matters through Liberators Criminal Defense. He currently focuses his practice on criminal defense in Nevada.
