About Michael Lee
Michael Lee Jackson earned his undergraduate degree in political science from Indiana University–Purdue University at Indianapolis in 1998 and returned to the same campus for his law degree, receiving a J.D. in 2004. He moved from study to practice in Indiana, building a local legal career grounded in courtroom procedure and federal practice. His academic years in Indianapolis set the stage for steady work in both state and federal matters.
Jackson is admitted to practice in Indiana and holds admission to the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Indiana and the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Indiana. Those admissions shape the kinds of matters he handles. They also mean he regularly appears in federal forums as well as state courts across Indiana.
His early professional record shows a quick progression into leadership roles. In 2009 he served as lead lawyer at Geraci Law, where he took primary responsibility for client-facing work and case management. The following year he joined Jackson & Oglesby Law LLC as a partner. That move placed him in a firm leadership role and expanded his responsibilities beyond individual casework to firm-level decision making.
Across his career he has handled matters that require practice in bankruptcy court and in federal district court. He manages litigation, filings and hearings in those venues and works on the procedural and substantive issues that arise in bankrupcty and related federal litigation. He also engages in the legal work that supports client needs in state court when cases have parallel or connected elements.
Jackson has been a member of the Indiana State Bar Association since 2008 and holds membership in the Indianapolis Bar Association from the same year onward. Those memberships keep him connected to peers and to continuing legal education in Indiana. They also reflect long-standing ties to the professional community in the city where he studied and now works.
He is a partner at Jackson & Oglesby Law LLC and practices out of the firm’s offices in Indiana. His practice focuses on bankruptcy matters and related litigation in state and federal courts.
