About Michael L.
Michael L. Mineau built his legal foundation at Miami University of Ohio, where he earned a B.A. in political science in 2002. He went on to graduate from Roger Williams University School of Law in 2006. Those formative years included work that straddled both scholarship and practical training, shaping the trajectory of his early career.
After law school he began accumulating hands-on experience in Rhode Island legal offices. He worked as a law clerk at Smith & Brink, P.C. in 2008 and took a legal internship with the Rhode Island Board of Elections in 2009. During that same year he served as Senior Notes Editor for the Ashburn Institute Transnational Law Journal, an editorial role that kept him engaged with legal writing and research.
Mineau moved into private practice in 2010, joining the office of Kristine S. Trocki as an associate lawyer. He later became an associate at McKinnon & Harwood, LLC in 2013. In 2015 he joined Kelly & Mancini, PC as a litigation associate, a position he continues to hold. Those positions exposed him to courtroom work and client counseling across a range of civil matters.
He is admitted to practice in Rhode Island and in the U.S. District Court for the District of Rhode Island. In addition to his bar memberships, Mineau holds a Title Agent certification from the Rhode Island Department of Business Regulation, Insurance Division. That credential complements his transactional and real estate-related work and provides a regulatory perspective on title and insurance matters.
Mineau is an active participant in local and national legal organizations. He has been a member of the Rhode Island Bar Association since 2010 and joined its Technology in the Practice and Title Standards & Practices committees in 2011. He also belongs to the Newport County Bar Association and the American Bar Association, and he has been involved with the Newport County Chamber of Commerce. Earlier in his career he served on the board of the Tuesday Night Athletic Foundation from 2008 to 2012.
Colleagues describe him as pragmatic in handling disputes and attentive to procedural detail. His background combines litigation experience, editorial work, and regulatory knowledge of title matters. He maintains his practice in Rhode Island, where he works on litigation and title-related matters at Kelly & Mancini, PC.
