About Michael L.
Michael L. Hyman studied at the University of Florida, where he earned a B.A., and went on to receive his J.D. from the University of Miami School of Law. He trained during a period when Florida’s condominium and community association law was evolving rapidly. Those years set the groundwork for a practice that centers on the law governing common-interest communities.
After law school Hyman built a career in Florida law. He is admitted to practice in Florida and works at the firm Siegfried Rivera. Over time his practice developed around disputes and governance issues that affect condominium associations and planned developments. He has handled matters in both transactional and courtroom settings, reflecting a mix of litigation and advisory work.
Hyman is a Board Certified Specialist in Condominium and Planned Development Law, a designation granted by The Florida Bar. That certification recognizes lawyers who meet particular experience, education and testing standards in this field. It is one credential that signals his specific training in the statutes, case law and regulatory matters that shape condominium governance in Florida.
Professional associations have been a consistent part of his career. He is a member of the Greater Miami Chapter of the Community Associations Institute and belongs to the Academy of Florida Trial Lawyers. He maintains membership in The Florida Bar and is part of the Community Association Law Institute College of Community Association Lawyers, where he was a member of the charter class beginning in 1994. Those affiliations reflect a long-standing engagement with peers who practice in related areas of community association law.
In day-to-day practice at Siegfried Rivera, Hyman works on issues that commonly confront associations, board members and developers. He represents clients in disputes over governance, contracts and common-area responsibilities. He also handles matters that touch on the regulatory framework for planned communities and condominiums. He currently practices at Siegfried Rivera and focuses on condominium and planned development law.
