Michael Jon Bailey is a licensed attorney admitted to practice law in the State of California. He was admitted to the California State Bar in 1990 and holds bar number 148180. His license is currently in active status. Mr. Bailey is the principal attorney at his own law firm, located at 1423 Broadway PMB 280, Oakland, California. He has been practicing law for over 35 years, serving clients throughout the Oakland and Alameda areas.
Mr. Bailey earned his Juris Doctor degree from Golden Gate University School of Law in 1990. Prior to law school, he completed his undergraduate education at the University of California, Irvine, receiving a Master of Arts degree in 1977. During his time at Golden Gate University, he developed a strong foundation in legal principles, preparing him for a diverse legal career.
Mr. Bailey concentrates his practice in the areas of civil rights, arbitration and mediation, divorce, and family law. He represents individuals in matters involving workplace discrimination, wrongful termination, wage and hour disputes, and premises liability claims. His practice encompasses all stages of litigation, including initial case evaluation, discovery, mediation, settlement negotiations, and trial proceedings in both state and federal courts.
Throughout his career, Mr. Bailey has handled cases in the Superior Court of California for the County of Alameda, the United States District Court for the Northern District of California, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. He has also appeared before the California Court of Appeal on multiple occasions. Prior to founding his own firm, he worked as an associate at a mid-size litigation firm in Oakland for five years.
Mr. Bailey is an active member of the California State Bar Association. He holds membership in the American Bar Association Section of Litigation. He is also a certified mediator through the Alameda County Superior Court mediation program. Mr. Bailey is fluent in English and Spanish, allowing him to serve the diverse communities of the Oakland area effectively.
