About Michael John
Michael John McNulty earned his juris doctor from Widener University Delaware School of Law. He pursued a standard legal education there and completed the degree that qualified him to enter practice. After law school he established his legal career in Tennessee, where he is authorized to practice.
His early practice included work at the Gordon Law Group in 2008. There he handled matters in estate planning and personal injury. Those years gave him exposure to both transactional work—drafting wills and trusts—and to contested cases in personal injury claims.
A year later, in 2009, he took on a leadership role at McNulty & Associates. He became the firm’s managing partner and has overseen firm operations since then. The transition from associate-level practice to management broadened his responsibilities. He moved from casework into supervising other lawyers, managing client relations, and setting office procedures.
Colleagues describe his courtroom presence as steady and his written work as precise. He has balanced litigation and advisory work throughout his career. On the litigation side he has been involved in pursuing damage claims and negotiating settlements. On the advisory side he has prepared estate documents, counseled clients on probate matters, and handled the mechanics of trust administration.
Clients who come to him often face practical problems: planning for incapacity, resolving estate disputes, or recovering after an accident. He tends to break complex issues into concrete steps. That approach helps clients understand options and timelines. His workflow blends document preparation, legal analysis, and negotiation.
Outside of specific case work he has spent much of the last decade running the business side of a small firm. That role requires juggling staffing, compliance, and client intake. It also involves staying current on Tennessee procedural rules and statutory changes that affect estate law and personal injury practice.
As managing partner at McNulty & Associates, he continues to handle both estate planning and personal injury matters while overseeing the firm’s daily operations. His current practice focuses on estate planning and personal injury.
