About Michael J.

Michael J. Paleudis followed an unconventional path to the law. He earned a B.F.A. from Emerson College in 1998 and then turned to legal study at The George Washington University Law School, where he received his J.D. in 2005. That mix of arts and law surfaces in the way he approaches client problems: attentive to detail and practical in tone.

After law school he entered private practice and built a niche representing businesses in highly regulated industries. He is a member of Korngut Paleudis LLC, where he has handled matters that cut across licensing, permitting and administrative hearings. He approaches each matter as a problem to be solved rather than a cause to be championed.

Paleudis is admitted in multiple state courts and in several federal districts. His licenses include Connecticut, New York, Pennsylvania and New Jersey. He is also admitted in the United States District Court for the Eastern, Southern and Western Districts of New York. That range allows him to handle both state-level regulatory issues and federal litigation when cases cross jurisdictional lines.

A substantial portion of his work involves the hospitality and beverage industries. He works on liquor licensing matters, local licensing board appearances and regulatory compliance for operators and owners. Restaurants, taverns and beverage distributors appear frequently among his clients. He also handles transactional work related to those businesses, including leases and vendor contracts, and represents clients in enforcement proceedings before municipal and state agencies.

His association memberships reflect that industry focus. He holds memberships in the New York State Restaurant Association, the United Restaurant & Tavern Owners of New York and the National Association of Alcoholic Beverage Licensing Lawyers. He is also active in bar organizations, including the Westchester Bar Association, the New York City Bar Association and the New Jersey State Bar Association.

Colleagues describe him as methodical and straightforward in court and at the negotiating table. He tends to prefer practical solutions that allow a business to continue operating while it addresses compliance gaps or licensing disputes. He has handled contested hearings, negotiated settlements and counseled clients on preventive measures to limit regulatory exposure.

He currently practices as a member of Korngut Paleudis LLC, representing hospitality industry clients in licensing, regulatory and related business matters.
