About Michael J.

Michael J. Levin built a steady path from Baltimore classrooms to courtroom work. He graduated from Johns Hopkins University in 2008 and later earned his J.D. from the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law. The arc of his education placed him in two of the region’s prominent institutions and set a foundation for practice in the Mid-Atlantic.

Levin's law school years led directly into practice. After completing his J.D., he entered private practice and took the steps necessary to appear in both state and federal forums. He holds admission to the Maryland bar, the District of Columbia bar, and the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland. Those credentials allow him to represent clients across jurisdictions and in a variety of procedural settings.

He serves as an associate at Silverman Thompson. In that role Levin has managed filings, prepared briefs, and appeared in hearings. His day-to-day work requires attention to procedural detail and the ability to synthesize complex factual records into clear legal arguments. Colleagues describe him as methodical in his preparation and concise in court, preferring practical solutions over rhetorical flourish.

Since 2016 Levin has been a member of the Maryland State Bar Association. That membership places him among local practitioners who exchange ideas on developments in state law and courtroom practice. He has used the association’s programming to stay current on procedural changes and continuing legal education subjects relevant to litigators in the region.

The jurisdictions in which Levin is admitted reflect a practice that moves between state and federal matters. Admission to the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland permits him to handle federal litigation and pretrial practice. Admission in the District of Columbia expands the geographic reach of his work, allowing him to take cases that cross state lines or involve clients with multi-jurisdictional needs.

Outside the courtroom, Levin has focused on building a practical litigation skill set. He works on discovery plans, motion practice, and trial preparation. He values clear writing and careful calendaring, tools that help keep complex matters on track. His professional path shows steady development rather than dramatic leaps.

He currently practices as an associate at Silverman Thompson, handling matters in state and federal court.
