Michael H. Chen is the founder and principal of Chen Law Group in California. He runs a small practice that handles consumer-related matters and civil litigation. He also maintains ties to the military legal community through previous service in the Army Reserves.
Chen’s academic path began at the University of California, Irvine, where he earned a B.A. in Education (2002). He went on to law school at Thomas Jefferson School of Law, receiving his J.D. in 2009. Later, he attended the Judge Advocate General’s Legal Center and School and earned a United States Army officer commission in 2014.
His early legal experience includes service as a judge advocate in the United States Army Reserves, listed in his record from 2003. That role placed him in military legal settings and exposed him to the procedural and client-service demands unique to armed forces practice. The JAG training he completed in 2014 further formalized his military-law credentials.
In 2019 Chen opened Chen Law Group and took on the role of lawyer and owner. He has represented clients in consumer matters and related civil disputes. He is a member of the Consumer Lawyers Association of Los Angeles and has been active in that organization since 2014. That membership has kept him connected to peers who handle individual and class consumer claims.
