About Michael D

Michael D Slodov built a career that moves between solo practice, firm roles and federal admissions. He earned his J.D. from Case Western Reserve University School of Law after completing a B.A. in psychology at Cleveland State University in 1985. The combination of a liberal arts undergraduate study and a law degree shaped an approach that balances client-level work and procedural complexity.

He opened the Law Office of Michael D. Slodov in 1991. That period gave him experience running all sides of a small practice: client intake, case management and courtroom appearances. Working alone required practical problem-solving and a tight command of both state and federal practice rules.

In 1997 he joined Javitch, Block & Rathbone, LLC as a partner and compliance officer. In that role he handled internal compliance responsibilities alongside client matters. The post added regulatory oversight and firm-level management to his resume. In 2012 he served as an associate at Sessions, Fishman, Nathan & Israel, LLC. That later position placed him back into a firm structure, handling assigned matters and collaborating with other attorneys on litigation and transactional work.

Slodov is admitted to practice in New York and Ohio. He also holds admissions to several federal venues: the U.S. Supreme Court and multiple federal circuit courts, including the 2nd, 4th, 6th and 7th Circuits. Those credentials have allowed him to handle filings and appearances across a broad geographic range and at different appellate levels.

Throughout his career he has maintained active memberships in professional organizations. Those memberships have provided a forum for continuing legal education and peer engagement. His experience spans solo practice administration, firm partnership duties and associate-level responsibilities, giving him a practical perspective on case staffing and compliance systems.

He is based at Javitch Block LLC and has worked in roles that brought together litigation, compliance and client counseling. His courtroom and appellate admissions support representation in state and federal matters. He currently practices at Javitch Block LLC, concentrating on litigation and compliance matters.
