About Michael

Michael Beliz combines formal training in economics with a legal education. He earned a B.A. in Economics from California State University, Long Beach and went on to complete an M.A. in Economics at the University of California, Santa Barbara. He later obtained his J.D. from the University of San Diego School of Law. Those three degrees shape how he approaches problems and advise clients.

At law school, Beliz studied subjects that bridge commerce and law. He completed coursework and legal writing that emphasized analysis and practical problem solving. After earning his J.D., he entered private practice and eventually established his own firm. His path from academic economics to law created a practical toolset for handling detailed factual and financial questions.

Beliz applies economic reasoning to legal issues. He often examines documents and data closely, looking for patterns and inconsistencies. That background helps when cases involve financial records, contracts, or business disputes, though he does not limit himself to a single category of work. He favors clear explanations. He translates technical material into plain terms that clients can use to make decisions.

He practices through The Beliz Law Office, maintaining more than one office location to serve a diverse client base. In that setting he manages case strategy, client communication and the day-to-day operations of a small firm. Colleagues and clients have noted his habit of breaking complex matters into manageable parts. He prepares thoroughly for hearings and meetings and emphasizes documentation and preparation.

Outside of the office, Beliz’s academic background continues to inform his work. Economic concepts influence how he evaluates claims and constructs arguments. He also relies on research skills honed during graduate study when preparing factual narratives and assessing expert evidence. He is a member of professional circles and engages with peers on issues that intersect law and economics.

He currently practices through The Beliz Law Office, representing clients from his private practice offices and handling matters that benefit from combined legal and economic analysis.
