Michael Aaron Schaps is a licensed attorney admitted to practice law in the State of California. He was admitted to the California State Bar in 2006. His license is currently in active status. Mr. Schaps is the principal attorney at The Schaps Law Office, A.P.C., a civil litigation firm located in Davis, California. He has been practicing law for over 19 years, serving clients throughout Yolo County and the surrounding areas.
Mr. Schaps earned his Juris Doctor degree from the University of California, Berkeley School of Law in 2006, where he graduated near the top of his class and was a member of the California Law Review. Prior to law school, he completed his undergraduate education at Stanford University, receiving both a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Arts in Philosophy and Religious Studies in 1997 and 1998, respectively.
Mr. Schaps concentrates his practice in the areas of personal injury law, business disputes, and civil litigation. He represents individuals and businesses in matters involving motor vehicle accidents, wrongful death, contract disputes, intellectual property theft, and employment claims. His practice encompasses all stages of litigation, including initial case evaluation, discovery, mediation, settlement negotiations, and trial proceedings in both state and federal courts.
Throughout his career, Mr. Schaps has handled cases in the Superior Court of California for the County of Yolo, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of California, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. He has also appeared before private mediators and arbitrators. Prior to founding his own firm, he served as a law clerk to Judge Pamela Ann Rymer of the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and to Chief Judge David F. Levi of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of California.
Mr. Schaps is an active member of the California State Bar Association. He is also a member of the Yolo County Bar Association and the American Bar Association. He has been recognized with the Martindale-Hubbell Client Champion Silver award, reflecting his commitment to excellent client service. Mr. Schaps is fluent in English and Spanish, allowing him to serve the diverse communities of Yolo County effectively.
