About Michael A.

Michael A. Herrin built a legal path shaped by studies and early public service. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice Administration from California State University - East Bay in 2009. He then completed his J.D. at Arizona Summit Law School in 2014 and added an LL.M. in International Law from the University of Houston Law Center in 2015.

After law school, Herrin spent time in the public sector. In 2016 he worked as a lawyer in the Office of the Juvenile Officer for Jackson County, Missouri. That role placed him inside the juvenile justice system and gave him daily experience with court processes, social services and the practical challenges facing young people and their families. He later moved into private practice and, in 2018, served as an associate at Clyde & Co US LLP, where he handled matters that broadened his exposure to civil litigation and regulatory concerns.

In 2019 Herrin became a member of Herrin Law Office, LLC. He has maintained an active presence in the Missouri legal community and in organizations that center on children and juvenile justice. His affiliations include The Missouri Bar, the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association, the National Association of Counsel for Children and the Missouri Juvenile Justice Association. Those memberships sit alongside his licensure in Missouri and New York, which allow him to work on matters across state lines.

Colleagues describe Herrin as methodical in his preparation and steady in court. He has experience in juvenile matters from his time with Jackson County, and he has handled a range of civil and litigation matters in private practice. His background in criminal justice, combined with advanced study in international law, gives him a broad perspective on cases that touch both domestic procedures and cross-border concerns.

Herrin’s practice blends courtroom work, client counseling and case strategy. He has shifted between public and private roles during his career and returned to run matters from his own firm. He represents clients in juvenile and family-related matters as well as related civil disputes. He focuses his practice on juvenile law, children’s advocacy and related civil matters.
