About Melissa L.
Melissa L. Campbell has practiced law in Alabama for more than three decades. She arrived at the bar after earning a J.D. from the Thomas Goode Jones School of Law at Faulkner University in 1990, following undergraduate studies at Auburn University. Those early years set the stage for a steady, state-centered career.
She was admitted to the Alabama State Bar in 1991 and has maintained that membership continuously. Over time she built experience in the state legal community and developed a practice grounded in the procedural and substantive demands of Alabama law. Her professional path has been local and persistent rather than transient.
Campbell joined DeWeese & Bae LLC as of counsel in 2015. In that role she has provided legal advice and worked alongside firm attorneys on matters brought to the firm. The of-counsel title reflects a senior advisory and collaborative position rather than one tied to firm management. It also signals a long-term relationship with the firm that complements her independent standing in the bar.
Her education and years in practice have given her an understanding of how state courts and agencies operate. She has spent the bulk of her career serving clients in Alabama and navigating the procedural landscape they face. Colleagues and clients cite her steadiness and familiarity with local practice as practical assets.
Outside casework, Campbell has remained connected to the Alabama State Bar since her admission in 1991. That ongoing membership has kept her in touch with changes to state rules and continuing legal education requirements. It has also provided a professional network she has drawn on throughout her career.
Today she practices at DeWeese & Bae LLC in Alabama, working with the firm’s attorneys to advise and represent clients in matters handled by the office. Her current practice centers on providing counsel to clients through DeWeese & Bae LLC.
