About Melissa Angelique
Melissa Angelique Aldape built a straightforward path into the law. She left Boston University in 2011 with a B.A. in English and Business Administration. Three years later she earned her J.D. from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law. Those years in school combined classroom theory with early exposure to client work.
Her practical legal training began while she was still a student. In 2010 she worked as a legal intern at J.D. Spicer & Co. Solicitors. During law school she served as a research assistant at Loyola and took on client representation through the Stuart H. Smith Law Clinic and Center for Social Justice in 2013. That clinic experience involved direct client contact and courtroom appearances under supervision, an early test of the skills every new lawyer needs.
After law school Aldape moved into associate roles at several small firms. In 2014 she joined Rosas & Suerken, PLLC as an associate lawyer. She later worked at The Gonzalez Law Group in 2017 and then at Laura Dale & Associates, P.C. beginning in 2019. Those positions gave her steady experience handling family law matters, covering both contested hearings and negotiated settlements.
Her membership in the State Bar of Texas and in its Family Law Section dates to 2014 and continues today. That affiliation keeps her connected to developments in Texas family law and to colleagues who handle divorces, custody disputes, and related proceedings. Colleagues describe her as practical in the courtroom and attentive in client meetings; clients have relied on her for straightforward explanations and procedural guidance.
Aldape’s work has centered on family law issues since she entered practice. She has experience preparing pleadings, taking testimony, and advising clients on case strategy. In hearings she has presented evidence and questioned witnesses. Outside the courtroom she has handled negotiations and drafted settlement agreements. Her background in English and business provides a mix of writing and analytic skills that she applies to case preparation and client counseling.
She currently practices at Laura Dale & Associates, P.C., where she handles family law matters including divorce, custody, and other related issues.
