About Melaniece Bardley

Melaniece Bardley Davis built a legal path that began in the Midwest and settled in the Southeast. She completed undergraduate work at Southern Illinois University Carbondale and earned her J.D. from North Carolina Central University School of Law. Those academic years established the foundations she has relied on throughout her career.

After law school she entered practice in Georgia and became a member of the State Bar of Georgia in 2003. That membership has continued through the present. Over the years she has navigated the practical demands of courtroom work, client counseling and negotiated settlements. She has balanced trial preparation with the day-to-day tasks of running client matters.

Her work has centered on family law and divorce matters. She handles contested divorces, property division, child custody and parenting-time disputes, and related financial issues. In hearings and in negotiations she aims to clarify options for clients and to press for outcomes that reflect their stated priorities. She represents individuals at all stages of a family law case, from initial filings through post-judgment enforcement and modification when needed.

Colleagues and clients have observed that she is methodical in case preparation. She tends to a file’s details and builds the factual record needed for hearings. She also spends time explaining statutes and court procedures so clients understand what to expect. Those conversations often shape strategy and help clients make informed choices about settlement versus trial.

Davis’s office work includes drafting pleadings, preparing witnesses, and assembling financial documents for division and support calculations. She works with forensic accountants and other experts when complex asset valuation or tax questions arise. In custody matters she focuses on the documented evidence that courts use to evaluate parenting arrangements.

She is a principal at Bardley McKnight Law Divorce Lawyers. At that firm she shares responsibility for case direction and client intake. Her day-to-day role combines client advocacy with management of case staff and outside vendors.

Outside the courtroom she remains active in professional circles by maintaining bar membership and keeping up with changes in Georgia family law. Her practice concentrates on family and divorce law, where she continues to represent clients in the Atlanta-area legal system and in other Georgia forums.
