About Megan
Megan Scafiddi earned her B.A. from the University of California, Irvine in 2007 and completed her J.D. at California Western School of Law in 2011. The academic timeline put her on a steady path toward courtroom work and the practical side of the law. Her legal education included time in clinics and placements that fed directly into early employment in a county office.
She began her professional career as a clerk in 2010 at the San Bernardino County District Lawyer's Office. That position exposed her to case preparation, evidence review and the pace of government practice. After law school she entered private practice, joining the Law Offices Of Michael A. Scafiddi, Inc. as an associate in 2012. She remained with that office through a period of expansion and took on increased responsibility over the next several years.
In 2017 she moved into a leadership role as the managing lawyer at the firm’s San Diego office. The managing position required supervising case workflows, mentoring junior attorneys and coordinating with clients and outside counsel. Those administrative duties sat alongside her ongoing client work and courtroom appearances.
In 2021 she relocated her practice to Colorado, joining the Colorado Legal Defense Group as an associate lawyer. She works out of the firm’s Colorado Springs and Greeley offices, handling matters that come through those regional practices. The move added a second bar jurisdiction to her professional profile; she is licensed to practice in both California and Colorado.
Her career traces a common arc in modern practice: early exposure to government work, followed by years in a family-named private firm and then a move to a larger regional defense group. That path has given her experience on both sides of the aisle and familiarity with the demands of managing an office as well as carrying a caseload. Colleagues describe her as pragmatic in court and detail-oriented in preparation.
Today she balances client work across multiple Colorado offices. She is based at the Colorado Legal Defense Group and continues to handle defense matters in the state. She currently practices criminal defense in Colorado.
