About Megan
Megan Gooing began her academic path in marketing before turning to law. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Marketing from New Mexico State University and later completed a Juris Doctor at Chapman University Fowler School of Law. Those degrees established a mix of business sense and legal training that informs her work today.
At Chapman, she completed the coursework required to enter private practice. The law school environment sharpened her interest in practical client work and estate planning concepts. Her undergraduate background in marketing provides an added perspective on communication and client service, an asset when explaining technical legal choices to nonlawyers.
Gooing moved into practice in areas that intersect with family and financial planning. She joined Fortitude Estate Planning, APC, where she assists clients with the documents and processes that transfer property and protect decision-making when people can no longer act for themselves. The work includes drafting wills and trusts, preparing advance directives and powers of attorney, and advising on basic probate and trust administration procedures.
Her approach emphasizes clarity. She aims to help clients understand options and consequences in plain language. That can mean breaking down trust structures, outlining how probate works, or explaining the trade-offs between different fiduciary roles. She regularly works with individuals planning for retirement, families arranging inheritances, and small business owners considering succession planning. The emphasis in her practice is on practical solutions that reflect clients’ goals and the realities of their finances and relationships.
Outside client meetings she attends continuing legal education to stay current on changes in estate and trust law. She also collaborates with accountants and financial advisors when a client’s situation benefits from multidisciplinary input. At Fortitude Estate Planning, APC, Gooing handles estate planning, trust administration and related probate matters. Her current practice centers on providing straightforward estate planning and administration services to individuals and families.
