About Maya

Maya Milovic earned a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies from Arizona State University in 2008 and a Juris Doctor from Phoenix School of Law in 2012. She moved through law school into a series of internships and clerkships that gave her early exposure to courtroom procedures and client work. That practical grounding came before she began taking on cases in her own name.

After law school she held consecutive internship and clerkship roles. In 2010 and 2011 she worked as a legal intern and law clerk at several Phoenix-area firms, including Jenkins Law Office, Weisberg & Meyers, and Buesing, Hernacki & Beckstead. Those positions involved drafting, research and courtroom preparation. They were a conventional start for a lawyer who wanted experience on both sides of the file.

In 2013 Milovic’s career became more varied. She founded the Law Office of Maya Milovic that year and also served as an associate at Oswalt Law Group. At the same time she took part in the Arizona Summit Fellowship Program at the Human Services Campus and Lodestar Day Resource Center, doing hands-on work tied to community services. The mix of private practice and public-service work shaped the way she approaches client problems.

By 2016 she had taken on an associate role at R.J. Peters & Associates, P.C. That move added another chapter to a resume that includes solo practice and work inside small firms. Throughout these roles Milovic handled motion practice, client counseling and court appearances. She has experience in firm settings and in running the administrative side of a small practice.

Milovic is admitted to practice law in Arizona and has been a member of the U.S. District Court for the District of Arizona since 2013. Her courtroom and filing credentials allow her to represent clients in both state and federal forums. She continues to maintain professional ties in the Phoenix legal community.

Her professional path shows a blend of courtroom work, solo practice and community-based service. She balances casework with the managerial tasks of running a small office and with appearances as an associate in firm settings. Her current practice focuses on serving clients in Arizona state and federal courts.
