About Maya L.

Maya L. Serkova built her career on steady progression through California's legal community. She earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of California, Los Angeles, then completed her law degree at Whittier Law School. Those credentials anchored the early years of a practice rooted in state law and local bar involvement.

After law school, Serkova joined practice in Southern California. Over time she rose to a leadership role at Serendib Law Office, where she is now a partner. Her path included routine courtroom appearances, negotiated settlements and day-to-day client counseling. Colleagues describe her approach as pragmatic; she tends to prioritize solvable outcomes over headline-making fights.

Serkova holds active memberships in several professional organizations. She belongs to the Orange County Bar Association and the Los Angeles Bar Association. She is also a member of the California Employment Lawyers Association, an affiliation that aligns with much of her casework. Those memberships have given her regular access to continuing legal education and a network of fellow practitioners in the region.

Her practice has leaned toward employment matters. She has handled disputes involving workplace policies, employee rights and contract questions. Cases have ranged in size and complexity. She has represented individuals and advised employers at different stages of employment disputes. The work often combines litigation and negotiation. Much of it is practical problem solving aimed at resolving tangled personnel issues.

At Serendib Law Office Serkova shares responsibility for managing client relationships and overseeing younger lawyers. As a partner she helps set office priorities and weighs which matters the firm will pursue. She also participates in mentoring within the firm, providing guidance to associates on litigation strategy and client communication.

Outside of casework she remains active in the legal community through the bar associations that reflect her local practice. She attends meetings and programs that address developments in employment law and practice management. Her courtroom experience and bar involvement inform how she advises clients and prepares cases. She currently handles employment law matters at Serendib Law Office.
