About Maya K.

Maya K. Grey built a steady path into family law through study and steady practice. She earned a B.A. in Psychology and Diversified Liberal Arts from the University of California, Los Angeles in 2002, followed by an M.A. in Education from UCLA in 2005. She later completed her J.D. at the University of San Francisco School of Law in 2012. Those years in classrooms and clinics shaped her view of how legal systems touch everyday family life.

After law school, Grey entered private practice. She joined Blum, Gibbs, Davies & Owen, LLP as an associate in 2013, working on family law matters and gaining courtroom and negotiation experience. In 2020 she took a leadership step and became a partner at Grey & Associates Family Law, LLP. Three years later she opened her own firm, Grey Family Law, PC, and assumed ownership in 2023. Her career moves trace a clear arc from associate to partner to firm owner.

Grey is a Certified Family Law Specialist recognized by the State Bar of California. She holds memberships in professional groups that reflect that specialization, including the Association of Certified Family Law Specialists and local bar associations in Contra Costa and Alameda counties. Those affiliations keep her connected to peers and current practice developments in California family law.

Her practice addresses a range of family law issues. She handles matters such as dissolution of marriage, child custody and visitation, spousal and child support, and property division. She represents clients in both negotiated settlements and contested hearings. Her work includes client counseling, preparation of pleadings, and advocacy at settlement conferences and trials when necessary.

Colleagues describe her as methodical in case preparation and direct in court. She has balanced caseloads that include both complex financial cases and disputed custody matters. Clients who seek her out often want pragmatic solutions and clear communication during stressful transitions.

Today she runs Grey Family Law, PC. The office provides family law services in California and represents clients in county courts where those matters arise. She continues to maintain professional ties through bar associations and the certified specialists group. She now practices family law at Grey Family Law, PC, concentrating on family law matters in California.
