About Maureen
Maureen Quinn earned her J.D. from Touro College Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center in 2005 after completing a B.B.A. at Hofstra University in 2002. Her academic path kept her close to New York, where she later gained admission to practice. These formative years provided a technical and practical grounding for a career in law.
After law school, Quinn moved into private practice in New York. Over time she has worked in multiple office settings, including a period at Hickey Smith. Her professional history reflects steady involvement in firm-based practice rather than a single-track career. She has worked alongside colleagues in different offices and adapted to the differing demands of office-based legal work.
Her day-to-day work has included client advising, case preparation and the kinds of courtroom and transactional tasks common in general practice. She has experience managing client matters from intake through resolution, coordinating with other professionals when cases required outside expertise. Colleagues describe her approach as practical and process-oriented, preferring clear steps and careful preparation over stylistic flourishes.
Quinn’s background combines an undergraduate business degree and a law degree, a pairing that lends itself to matters where legal and commercial considerations intersect. That educational mix also helps in explaining legal concepts to clients who do not have a legal background. She is comfortable working on issues that require both analytical detail and attention to client expectations.
Throughout her career she has remained based in New York and has held licensure to practice there. Her work has been largely tied to the rhythm of firm life: client meetings, drafting and negotiation, and the deadlines that structure litigation and transactional work. She has handled matters at varying levels of complexity and coordinated with firms’ internal resources when cases demanded specialist input.
Today, she is associated with Hickey Smith and continues to work in New York. Her practice covers client representation and case management in the state, and she maintains an office-based practice that serves local and regional clients. She currently practices at Hickey Smith, representing clients in New York.
