About Matthew W.

Matthew W. Conrad earned his Bachelor of Arts from Indiana University Bloomington in 1998, where he studied political science and philosophy. He went on to complete his Juris Doctor at Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law, receiving his degree in 2002. Those formative years in Indiana shaped his approach to legal reasoning and civic issues.

He is licensed to practice law in both Indiana and Washington. The cross-jurisdictional admissions allow him to work on matters that touch more than one state. Over the years he has developed an understanding of procedural differences between courts in the Midwest and the Pacific Northwest.

Conrad’s early career followed a traditional path from law school into practice. He moved from academic study to courtroom procedure and client representation. That transition required adapting classroom theory to practical strategy, settlement negotiations and, when necessary, trial preparation.

Colleagues describe him as methodical. He approaches cases one step at a time and keeps files organized. He prepares written materials for hearings and drafts pleadings, motions and briefs as the situation demands. When courts require oral argument, he presents the legal issues and responds to judges’ questions.

His work spans matters handled in state courts and before administrative bodies. He assesses statutes, reviews regulations and compiles the evidence needed to support clients’ positions. He also spends time researching case law to identify relevant precedents and to craft persuasive legal analyses.

Outside the courtroom, he has engaged in the practical aspects of law practice management. He balances client intake, docket deadlines and the business side of running a practice. This hands-on management has informed how he allocates time and resources for clients across two states.

As of 2026, Matthew W. Conrad continues to practice, maintaining his licenses in Indiana and Washington and representing clients whose matters require attention in one or both jurisdictions. His current practice focuses on state and civil matters in Washington and Indiana.
