About Matthew

Matthew Tuttle built his path to law in the classroom. He attended Seton Hall University School of Law, where he earned his J.D. in 2006 and completed academic work in intellectual property. That combination of general legal training and specialized study informed the early shape of his practice and continues to inform the cases he accepts.

After law school Tuttle moved into private practice and later established himself in Utah. He is admitted to the Utah bar and maintains an office at 3019 N 250 W. He has spent his career working on matters that touch on the ownership, protection and management of creative and technical assets. He handles counseling work and disputes that arise when those assets are contested.

Colleagues describe him as precise in legal drafting and methodical in preparing matters for litigation or negotiation. He has worked on trademark and copyright issues, and on problems that sit at the intersection of intellectual property and commercial law. He often advises clients on strategies to secure rights and on how to respond when those rights are challenged. The work requires careful attention to documentation, deadlines and procedural detail. That is where he focuses much of his daily effort.

Tuttle’s practice combines advisory and adversarial work. He drafts licensing agreements, assists in registration processes and represents clients in contested proceedings when disputes escalate. He also spends time counseling small businesses and individual creators on how to protect new works and inventions. His approach is to break complex legal concepts into practical steps his clients can follow.

Outside the office he pays attention to developments in IP law and to how changes in technology reshape legal questions. He keeps up with court decisions and administrative practice relevant to intellectual property enforcement and protection. The work requires both technical understanding and an ability to translate legal risk into business terms.

As of 2026, he practices in Utah and sees clients from a range of industries who seek practical legal advice on ownership and use of intellectual property. He currently concentrates his practice on intellectual property matters and related commercial issues.
