About Matthew

Matthew Teeter built the foundation of his legal career on classroom study and courtroom practice. He earned his J.D. from Thomas Goode Jones School of Law at Faulkner University in 2012, where he concentrated in criminal law. Earlier, he completed undergraduate work in criminal justice at Richard Stockton College of New Jersey.

After law school, Teeter began practicing in New Jersey. He moved into criminal practice and has spent his career handling matters that arise under state law. He has represented clients at various stages of criminal proceedings, from early investigations and pretrial motions to hearings and trials. His work routinely involves drafting motions, arguing in court, and advising clients on the practical consequences of different paths through the criminal justice system.

Colleagues describe his courtroom manner as direct. He favors clear, concise argument and careful preparation. That approach shows in courtroom filings and at the lectern. Teeter’s background in criminal justice and his legal training allow him to evaluate investigation records and police procedures with an eye toward practical defenses. He also spends time preparing witnesses and coordinating evidence for trial.

Teeter practices in a state-focused environment and maintains his practice in New Jersey. He handles a range of criminal matters, including state-level misdemeanors and felonies. In any given case he must balance immediate client needs—such as bail and release issues—with longer-term strategy, such as discovery disputes and plea considerations. He also works on post-conviction aspects when circumstances warrant further review.

He is part of Roberts & Teeter LLC, where he works alongside other lawyers on litigation and case management. At the firm he contributes to case evaluation, client interviews, and courtroom advocacy. Clients and co-counsel encounter an attorney who emphasizes practical steps and responsive communication. He remains based in New Jersey and continues to concentrate his practice on criminal law matters handled through Roberts & Teeter LLC in the state.
