About Matthew
Matthew Scafidi began his academic journey at Providence College before earning his law degree from New England Law | Boston. He arrived in the legal profession after completing those studies and entered Massachusetts practice soon thereafter. His education laid the groundwork for a career spent largely in private practice and courtroom work.
Early in his career he joined the Massachusetts State Bar, where his membership dates back to 2005 and remains current. That affiliation reflects his long-standing registration to practice in Massachusetts. He is also admitted to the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit, which allows him to handle matters in that federal appellate forum as well as state courts across Massachusetts.
Scafidi’s professional path has included several distinct roles. In 2007 he served as Of Counsel at Perry, Krumsiek & Jack, LLP. That same year he established his own practice as Matthew E. Scafidi, Lawyer at Law, taking on the responsibilities of principal and partner. By 2010 he joined Scafidi Juliano, LLP as a partner, a position he continues to hold. Those moves mark a steady progression from counsel to solo practice to firm leadership.
Throughout those years he has remained in private practice, engaging in litigation and legal representation that spans state and federal matters. His time as principal and partner required handling courtroom filings, client counseling and case strategy, while the Of Counsel role involved collaborative work with other attorneys at an established firm. Colleagues describe him as steady and pragmatic in how he approaches casework.
He maintains offices under the Scafidi Juliano, LLP name in Massachusetts. The firm setting allows him to work with other lawyers on complex files and to manage the practical demands of running a practice. It also provides a platform for cases that may proceed through trial courts and, when necessary, to the First Circuit.
Today he practices from Scafidi Juliano, LLP and continues to represent clients in Massachusetts courts and before the First Circuit. His current practice concentrates on matters brought in Massachusetts state courts and in the federal appellate court where he is admitted to appear.
