About Matthew Neill
Matthew Neill Davis trained first as a generalist. He earned a B.A. from Cornell College in 1990, a J.D. from the University of Oklahoma College of Law in 1993, and an M.B.A. from Cornell University in 2001. Those degrees give him both legal training and a business perspective that he draws on in client work.
His career spans courtroom preparation, transactional drafting and business counseling. He is admitted to practice in Missouri, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Texas and Kansas. Over the years he has handled matters that cross state lines, and he maintains offices in several regional business centers to serve clients where they operate.
Davis moved into business-focused practice after gaining early experience in litigation and regulatory matters. The M.B.A. added an extra layer to his practice, informing how he approaches entity selection, governance questions and financial due diligence. He advises owners and managers on company formation, contract negotiation, corporate governance and the practical legal issues that accompany growth and restructuring.
His work blends transactional and advisory roles. He drafts and negotiates commercial agreements, assists with mergers and asset transfers, and counsels clients on compliance and risk allocation. He also handles disputes that can arise from commercial relationships, preparing cases for negotiation or court when settlement is not possible. Colleagues describe him as methodical and pragmatic, and clients have sought his help for both everyday business decisions and more complex transactions.
Davis practices through Davis Business Law, a firm that maintains a presence across the central and southern United States. Offices are located in Yukon, Oklahoma City and Enid in Oklahoma; Tulsa; Dallas and Lewisville in Texas; and Kansas City and Wichita in Kansas and Missouri regions. That footprint allows him to work directly with local business owners as well as with multi-state organizations.
He continues to split his time between client work and firm management, handling matters that require both legal analysis and an understanding of business consequences. His practice now centers on business law across multiple states.
