Matthew Lynds Emrick is a licensed attorney admitted to practice law in the State of California. He was admitted to the California State Bar in 1990. His license is currently in active status. Mr. Emrick is the principal attorney at the Law Offices of Matthew Emrick, a firm located in Rocklin, California. He has been practicing law for over 35 years, serving clients throughout California in both state and federal courts.
Mr. Emrick earned his Juris Doctor degree from the University of California College of the Law, San Francisco, where he graduated in 1990. Prior to law school, he completed his undergraduate education at California State University, San Jose State University, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1984. During his time at UC College of the Law, San Francisco, he was involved in various legal clinics and externships, gaining practical experience in environmental and real estate law.
Mr. Emrick concentrates his practice in the areas of environmental law, real estate law, and business litigation. He represents individuals and businesses in matters involving water rights, wetlands, CEQA/NEPA compliance, land use, flood damage, and business disputes. His practice encompasses all stages of litigation, including initial case evaluation, discovery, mediation, settlement negotiations, and trial proceedings in both state and federal courts. He also appears before administrative agencies such as the State Water Resources Control Board and the Interior Board of Land Appeals.
Throughout his career, Mr. Emrick has handled cases in the Superior Court of California for the County of Placer, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of California, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. He has also appeared before the California Court of Appeal on multiple occasions. Prior to founding his own firm, he worked as an associate at a mid-size litigation firm in Sacramento for ten years, gaining extensive experience in environmental and real estate litigation.
Mr. Emrick is an active member of the California State Bar Association and the American Bar Association. He holds membership in the Environmental Law Section and the Real Property Law Section. He is also a certified mediator through the California Dispute Resolution Council. Mr. Emrick is fluent in English and Spanish, allowing him to serve the diverse communities of California effectively.
