About Matthew
Matthew Livingston built a legal path that moved quickly from internships to running his own practice. He earned his J.D. from DePaul College of Law in 2020 and within two years opened The Livingston Law Office. He practices in Illinois and maintains membership in the State Bar of Illinois.
He arrived at law school after completing a pair of undergraduate degrees at Saint Olaf College in 2016. He graduated with a B.A. in Economics, concentrating in finance, and a second B.A. in Exercise Science. Those dual tracks gave him a mix of analytical training and an understanding of practical, client-facing problems.
While at DePaul he took on several hands-on roles. In 2018 he served as a student volunteer at the DePaul Business Law Clinic and spent a summer that year as a pro bono intern at Holland & Knight LLP. The next year he worked as a legal intern for Sims Metal Management. These positions exposed him to both transactional and pro bono work during law school.
After earning his law degree, Livingston worked for John J. Pembroke in 2020 as a lawyer and law clerk. That post put him in day-to-day practice early in his career. He handled client matters and supported litigation and transactional tasks, gaining practical courtroom and office experience in the Illinois legal environment.
In 2022 he launched The Livingston Law Office and took on the role of owner and lawyer. The firm is a small, locally based practice. He continues his membership in the State Bar of Illinois and maintains an active presence in the state’s legal community. His career arc reflects a steady move from training roles into full responsibility for client representation.
His work history shows a mix of public-service minded internships and private practice experience. He has handled pro bono assignments, corporate legal internships, and law clerk duties before establishing his own firm. He now manages a caseload through The Livingston Law Office and practices under Illinois jurisdiction. He currently handles legal matters in Illinois through The Livingston Law Office.
