About Matthew Leon
Matthew Leon Lopez began his academic journey at Arizona State University, where he completed a Bachelor of Science degree in 2005 after studies that began in 2000. He continued his education at Phoenix School of Law, earning his Juris Doctor in 2009. Those years in school laid the groundwork for a practice rooted in Arizona law.
After law school he moved quickly into private practice. He became licensed by the State Bar of Arizona and began building a practice that would become his own firm. In 2010 he opened Matthew Lopez Law and has served as the firm’s owner and principal ever since. He handles the administrative responsibilities of running a small firm while maintaining a caseload in state courts.
Lopez’s professional memberships date to the start of his practice. He joined the Arizona State Bar Association in 2010 and maintains that membership. He also joined the Arizona Trial Lawyers Association and the Arizona Association for Criminal Justice the same year. Those affiliations reflect steady involvement in organizations that serve trial lawyers and criminal justice professionals in Arizona.
His hands-on experience comes from operating a solo and small-firm practice. That work requires courtroom preparation, client counseling and the routine motion practice that comes with litigation. He represents clients in proceedings at the state level and manages cases from intake through resolution. Colleagues and peers see him at continuing-education events sponsored by the bar and by the trial and criminal justice associations.
Lopez runs Matthew Lopez Law, PLLC, from offices in Arizona and provides clients with direct access to the attorney who handles their file. He has overseen the firm’s operations for more than a decade, balancing casework with running a business. He keeps active in local legal groups and attends trainings relevant to trial practice and criminal justice issues.
He practices under an active Arizona law license and remains a member of statewide legal organizations. He currently practices law through Matthew Lopez Law, PLLC and represents clients in Arizona courts.
