About Matthew L.
Matthew L. Williams earned his law degree from DePaul University in 1998 after completing a Bachelor of Arts at the University of Illinois–Chicago in 1995. He finished law school at a time when the Chicago legal market was changing rapidly. That timing shaped much of his early professional path.
He moved into practice in Illinois and gained admission to the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. Records show he has ties to the Illinois bar and the federal trial docket in the region. He used that eligibility to handle matters that required both state and federal filings.
In 2003 he served as Lake County Managing Partner at Salvi, Schostok & Pritchard P.C. The role placed him in a leadership position at a firm with a presence in the region. He managed local operations and coordinated case handling across the office during his tenure.
Williams is an active participant in professional organizations. He holds memberships in the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association, the American Association for Justice and the Chicago Bar Association. Those affiliations keep him engaged with continuing legal education and peer networks.
Over the years he has balanced casework and firm responsibilities. He has handled filings in state court and made appearances in federal court when the matter required it. His work crosses courtrooms and client meetings, and it often involves coordinating litigation teams and outside experts.
Colleagues describe him as methodical in preparing cases and steady in court. He prefers practical planning over flash. That approach shows in the way he stages depositions and prepares exhibits. It also shows in how he approaches negotiations when they arise.
Outside the office he has kept ties to the Lake County legal community, maintaining professional contacts and serving in roles that support local case management. He continues to participate in association events and legal education programs that address developments in trial practice.
He maintains an active practice in Illinois and appears in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. His current practice concentrates on litigation matters handled in those courts.
