About Matthew J.
Matthew J. Olszewski built his legal foundation at the University of Florida, where he completed a Bachelor of Arts in 1999 and later earned his Juris Doctor in 2004. He moved quickly from law school into public service. Early years in courtrooms shaped his approach to criminal and traffic work.
He began his career in 2004 as an Assistant State Lawyer in the State Lawyer’s Office for Florida’s 9th Judicial Circuit. There he handled prosecutions and gained firsthand experience with trial preparation, plea negotiations and courtroom procedure. Two years later he shifted roles to take on an administrative and policy-oriented position as a Traffic Safety Resource Prosecutor for the Florida Department of Transportation. That post involved working on traffic safety initiatives and advising prosecutors across the state on enforcement issues.
By 2010 he entered private practice management as Managing Partner of FL DUI Group and FL Drug Defense Group. As a managing partner he guided case strategy, oversaw attorneys and worked on firm-level policies. His practice moved from a single prosecutorial perspective to defending clients accused of DUI and drug offenses. The transition gave him experience on both sides of the criminal justice system.
Olszewski maintains active memberships in several professional organizations related to DUI and criminal defense. He belongs to the National College of DUI Defense and the DUI Defense Lawyers Association. He is also a member of the Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the Orange County Bar Association. These affiliations connect him to a network of practitioners and continuing education specific to impaired-driving and drug-related defense.
Colleagues and clients encounter an attorney who combines courtroom experience with years of practice managing defense work. His background includes state-level prosecution, statewide traffic safety advising and private-firm leadership. He handles case investigation, motions practice and trial advocacy in matters involving impaired driving and controlled substances.
Olszewski practices in Florida and is based at FL DUI Group. He currently focuses his practice on DUI and drug defense matters.
