About Matthew J

Matthew J Hartnett built his academic foundation around language and region. He earned a B.A. in Spanish Language & Literature from Villanova University in 2004. He then spent time at the Universidad de Salamanca, completing an M.A. in Latin American Studies in 2008. Hartnett finished law school at Rutgers School of Law–Camden, receiving his J.D. in 2013.

Early in his legal career Hartnett joined Solow, Isbell & Palladino, LLC as a senior associate in 2014. He handled casework that drew on his language skills and regional knowledge. His practice developed steadily and, in 2020, he became a partner at Solow, Hartnett & Galvan, LLC. The move placed him in a leadership role within a firm that handles matters across state and federal forums.

Hartnett is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. He also holds admissions to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit and to the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. Those federal admissions expand the venues where he can represent clients and argue appeals.

Language and international study have shaped how Hartnett approaches cases. His undergraduate work in Spanish and his master’s study of Latin America inform client intake, witness interviews, and document review in cross-border matters. He applies that background to the factual side of litigation and administrative proceedings rather than treating it as an abstract credential.

Membership in professional organizations has been part of Hartnett’s practice life. He maintains a current membership in the American Immigration Lawyers Association. That affiliation connects him to peers who handle immigration issues at both the administrative and court levels.

Colleagues and clients encounter a lawyer who combines courtroom admission with practical experience in firm practice. His path from senior associate to partner reflects steady advancement inside a boutique setting. He remains active in cases that require federal filings and appeals and in matters that draw on his language and regional expertise. His current practice centers on immigration-related and federal-state litigation matters.
