About Matthew
Matthew Hollingsworth began his path to the courtroom at the University of Georgia, where he earned a B.B.A. in economics in 2008. He continued his legal studies at the Pennsylvania State University - Dickinson School of Law, receiving his J.D. in 2010. Those years gave him the foundation he would use in the years that followed in Georgia practice.
He entered the Georgia legal market and spent several years building litigation experience. In 2016 he joined Broughton Law as an associate, handling civil cases and developing trial work. He moved on in 2019 to become a partner at Ashenden & Associates, P.C., where he took on greater responsibility for case strategy and courtroom presentation. In 2020 he founded Hollingsworth Injury Law, LLC and began practicing under his own firm name while continuing to appear in state courts as a trial lawyer.
Hollingsworth’s career separates into stages that mirror a steady rise through trial practice. Early work at Broughton Law exposed him to client intake and case preparation. Partner duties at Ashenden & Associates expanded his role in managing complex files and mentoring junior attorneys. As a founder, he shifted administrative duties alongside continuing litigation work. He is regularly in court and spends considerable time preparing jury cases.
He maintains several professional affiliations. He is a current member of the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association and serves on the board of the Atlanta Council of Younger Lawyers as a member at large. He holds memberships in the Dispute Resolution Section and the Litigation Section of the Atlanta Bar Association. He is active within the State Bar of Georgia’s Young Lawyers Division, serving on the YLD Litigation Committee, the Community Service Projects Committee, and the Legislative Affairs Committee. He also participates in the Atlanta Bar Association’s Wellness Committee.
Colleagues describe him as someone who approaches cases methodically and prefers evidence-driven advocacy over rhetoric. He prepares witnesses thoroughly and pays attention to trial details. He has handled a range of injury cases and takes on both negotiation and litigation tasks rather than limiting practice to one or the other.
Hollingsworth practices in Georgia courts and his office is Hollingsworth Injury Law, LLC. He currently focuses his practice on representing people injured in motor vehicle collisions, premises incidents, and other personal injury matters.
