About Matthew

Matthew Granda earned his J.D. from the UNLV William S. Boyd School of Law in 2012. He completed his legal education after several years of study there and entered the Nevada legal community soon after. His law school years coincided with a period of close attention to litigation and appellate procedure at Boyd, but he has built his professional record through practice rather than academic listings.

Early in his career Granda established ties to regional professional organizations. He joined the Nevada Justice Association and the American Association for Justice in 2012 and maintains those memberships. He is admitted to practice in Nevada and is also authorized to appear before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. Those admissions shape where he works and the courts he appears in.

Granda’s work takes him into both state and federal courtrooms. He files matters in Nevada courts and handles filings and oral argument when cases advance to the Ninth Circuit. He has experience drafting briefs and preparing records for appellate review. His courtroom practice requires attention to procedural detail and an ability to present issues clearly to judges and opposing counsel alike.

At Claggett & Sykes Law Office Granda is part of a litigation team that handles complex matters across Nevada. He joined the firm after establishing his footing in the state’s legal market. At the firm he manages case preparation, conducts discovery, and participates in hearings and trials as the facts require. Colleagues describe him as someone who attends to the mechanics of litigation and presses for clarity in pleadings and briefs.

Professional association work has been a steady part of his calendar since 2012. Membership in the Nevada Justice Association and the American Association for Justice offers opportunities for continuing education and professional exchange, and Granda has used those forums to stay current on litigation trends and appellate procedure. He has not pursued public office or bar leadership roles publicly, but he remains active in association events and programming.

In practice today Granda focuses his time on matters brought in Nevada state courts and in federal court, including appeals before the Ninth Circuit. He works at Claggett & Sykes Law Office and continues to handle filings, hearings, and appellate work for clients in the region.
