About Matthew
Matthew Davidson built his legal career steadily and deliberately. He moved from clerkship to private practice in a little over a year, then expanded into partnerships and firm leadership. Colleagues describe a lawyer who has steadily increased his responsibilities and his footprint across Texas municipal and traffic courts.
He earned a Bachelor of Arts in English and American Studies from the University of Texas at Austin in 2006. He later earned his Juris Doctor from Regent University School of Law in 2011. Those years framed an early interest in courtroom practice and local government law, which shows up repeatedly in the roles he has taken since law school.
He started working in county government as a law clerk at the Travis County Lawyer’s Office in 2010. After graduating, he launched his first solo practice under his own name and alternated between solo work and short stints at small firms. In 2011 he listed his practice as Matthew L. Davidson, Lawyer at Law. He spent time at the Cofer Law Office in 2012, then returned to his own practice in 2013. By 2014 he had moved into a partner role at Davidson Law Office, and in 2016 he became a partner at Davidson Law Group. The trajectory shows a move from individual practitioner to firm leadership over the course of a few years.
Davidson’s organizational involvement is broad. He has been a member of the American Bar Association, the Dallas and Tarrant County bar associations, and multiple young lawyers groups since 2011. He holds leadership posts in organizations oriented to traffic law: he has served as President of Traffic Lawyers of Texas since 2014 and as a Director of Traffic Lawyers of Tarrant County since the same year. He has been affiliated with Elder Counsel and Wealth Counsel since 2016, and he has participated in local municipal justice and criminal defense associations. Some memberships, such as his earlier participation in the State Bar of Texas Family Law Section and the Tarrant County Family Law Bar Association, ended in 2016.
He practices in Texas and maintains a presence in several local offices. His listed locations include Tyler, Fort Worth, and Allen. He handles traffic and municipal court representation and works on matters related to elder law and wealth planning. His current practice focuses on those areas and on serving clients across the firm’s regional offices.
