About Matthew

Matthew Chiapperini took a route to law that mixed politics and military studies before he went to law school. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Palm Beach Atlantic University and completed a minor in Military Science. Those undergraduate years shaped how he approaches problems: attentiveness to facts, and a sense of order when cases become complex. He went on to earn his J.D. from St. Thomas University School of Law.

After law school, Chiapperini entered practice at Freeman Injury Law. He joined a firm whose name signals an emphasis on injury-related claims. At the firm he has worked on matters that require investigation, negotiation and courtroom readiness. Colleagues describe him as methodical; he blends practical case preparation with steady client communication. He appears in filings and hearings that arise in contested injury cases.

His academic background in political science gives him a different vantage point. He reads statutes and regulations carefully and pays attention to the procedural posture of a case. The military studies minor also surfaces in his work habits. He favors clear routines for calendaring, discovery and witness preparation. That combination — an analytical undergraduate education and formal legal training — informs how he organizes evidence, crafts motions and prepares witnesses to testify.

Inside the office he spends time balancing client meetings and casework. He reviews medical records, discusses strategy with medical experts, and negotiates with insurers. He prepares settlement demands and, where settlement is not possible, files suit and takes discovery. He also handles pretrial practice, drafting briefs and attending hearings. The day-to-day responsibilities require a mix of legal research and hands-on client contact.

Outside of casework he keeps abreast of changes in case law that affect injury claims. He reads court opinions and monitors procedural developments that can affect deadlines and remedies. That attention to legal developments helps when opposing counsel raises novel defenses or when courts adjust standards for liability or damages.

He currently practices at Freeman Injury Law, representing clients in injury-related matters and guiding cases through investigation, negotiation and, when necessary, litigation.
