About Matthew C.

Matthew C. Meiners built his academic foundation at Louisiana State University. He completed a Bachelor of Science in International Trade and Finance in 1998 and added a minor in Economics. A decade later he returned to LSU for legal studies and earned his Juris Doctor from the Paul M. Hebert Law Center in 2009.

After law school, Meiners entered private practice at Kean Miller LLP. Records indicate he has been a partner at the firm since 2009. He has worked in the firm environment for years, advising clients and collaborating with colleagues on matters that arise under Louisiana law.

Meiners is licensed to practice in Louisiana and maintains memberships in the local legal community. He is an active member of the Baton Rouge Bar Association and belongs to the Louisiana State Bar. Those memberships place him among peers who address issues specific to state practice and procedure.

His undergraduate training in international trade and finance informs parts of his practice. That background gives him a grounding in economic and transactional questions when they appear in legal matters. At the same time, his legal education and work at Kean Miller give him practical experience in handling the procedural and statutory elements of cases in Louisiana.

Colleagues describe him as steady in the office and attentive to the details of a file. He has spent much of his professional life at a single firm, where he has taken on responsibilities that range from counseling clients to managing aspects of litigation and transactional work. He has continued his professional development through bar association membership and the day-to-day demands of firm practice.

Meiners divides his time among client meetings, legal research and the drafting of documents. He works within the practice structure at Kean Miller LLP and coordinates with other attorneys when matters cross into different specialties. His legal career has been firmly rooted in Louisiana since his admission to practice, and he maintains a presence in the state’s legal community.

He currently practices at Kean Miller LLP, representing clients in matters governed by Louisiana law.
