About Matthew C.

Matthew C. McManus earned his law degree from Western Michigan University Cooley Law School in 2013, following a bachelor’s degree from Northeastern University in 2005. He moved from a general undergraduate program into the study of law and completed his legal training at Cooley the same year he began his professional association with Michigan’s legal community.

His early professional steps are tied to Michigan practice. He has been a member of the Michigan State Bar Association since 2013. He is admitted to practice in Michigan and in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan, allowing him to appear in both state and federal forums.

McManus has worked as a lawyer at McManus & Amadeo PLLC. In that role he has handled matters that require litigation and courtroom presence. He represents individuals and entities in disputes that proceed through pretrial work, motion practice, and trial when necessary. His work requires managing filings, client conferences, and courtroom schedules in both state and federal settings.

Colleagues and opposing counsel describe him as straightforward in court papers and practical at the conference table. He tends to favor clear, direct filings over ornate legal prose. That approach shapes how he prepares cases and advises clients about the likely trajectory of litigation.

Outside of courtroom hours he maintains involvement in the broader legal community through the state bar. Maintaining that membership provides regular updates on rules, ethics guidance, and continuing legal education opportunities. He uses those resources to stay current on procedural developments and case law that affect daily practice in Michigan.

Clients reach McManus & Amadeo PLLC when they need representation that covers both Michigan state courts and the federal court in the Eastern District. He works on case assessment, strategy, and the procedural mechanics required to move matters through the judicial system. He also handles discovery and pretrial preparation that often dictates whether a case settles or goes to trial.

He continues to practice law at McManus & Amadeo PLLC, representing clients in matters before Michigan state courts and the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan.
