About Matthew B.
Matthew B. Lewis studied political science at Harding University, earning his B.A. in 1990. He went on to graduate from the University of Houston Law Center in 1994. Those years set a steady course for a career rooted in Texas law and public service.
He entered private practice in the late 1990s. Records show him at Rogers, Booker & Lewis, P.C. as a lawyer in 1998. He later practiced under the name Matt Lewis Law, P.C. in 2015. More recently he has been associated with MLF Legal, PLLC, where he maintains an office. Along the way he has kept ties to the local legal community and to civic institutions.
Lewis has been a member of the State Bar of Texas since 1998. He also holds board certification in Workers' Compensation Law from the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. That certification marks a formal recognition of specialized ability in an often technical area of practice. His work in workers' compensation has involved disputed claims, administrative hearings, and interactions with insurers and medical providers.
Outside the courtroom he has served on the Planning & Zoning Commission for the City of Saginaw, Texas. He joined the commission in 2006 and served as chairman in 2009. That role put him at the intersection of municipal regulation and development questions. Neighbors and local officials saw him addressing land use, zoning changes, and the practical concerns that accompany community growth.
Colleagues describe him as steady and practical in approach. He tends to break complex regulatory and medical issues into plain terms for clients. In hearings he marshals facts and statutory rules rather than theatrical argument. Clients who work with him generally encounter an attorney attuned to deadlines and procedural requirements that often decide disputed claims.
His career path traces local practice rather than a national footprint. He has remained in Texas practice throughout. That continuity has allowed him to build working relationships with claims administrators, treating physicians, employers, and local hearing officers.
Today he practices under the banner of MLF Legal, PLLC. He continues to maintain an active role in workers' compensation matters in Texas and in local municipal affairs, handling casework, administrative proceedings, and related client counseling in his current practice focus.
