About Matthew A.
Matthew A. Wood graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a B.A. in History and Secondary Education in 2007. He went on to earn his Juris Doctor from the University of Notre Dame Law School in 2010. Those academic years laid a foundation in analysis, research and the skills lawyers rely on in court and at the negotiating table.
After law school, Wood built a practice centered in Illinois and the federal appellate circuit that covers much of the Midwest. He is admitted to practice in Illinois and before the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. His career path led him into private practice and into leadership; he currently serves as the managing lawyer at Litico Law Group, where he oversees the firm's legal work and daily operations.
Wood's time on the board of OMNI Youth Services, from 2014 to 2017, added nonprofit governance to his professional background. In that role he participated in program oversight and community engagement efforts. The board position gave him experience in organizational decision-making outside the courtroom and a perspective on how legal advice can affect service providers and at-risk populations.
At Litico Law Group, Wood's responsibilities include case strategy, supervising other lawyers and coordinating client representation across state and federal matters. He has handled courtroom litigation and appellate filings and works on briefing, oral argument preparation and procedural strategy. His practice reflects steady work on procedural and substantive dimensions of litigation, and he spends time mentoring junior attorneys at the firm.
