About Matthew A.
Matthew A. Jirkovsky graduated from South Texas College of Law in 2017. He entered practice the same year and began building a résumé of successive associate roles at several Texas firms. The early years were hands-on. He learned firm practice and courtroom procedure by taking on tasks that ranged from drafting pleadings to supporting trials.
His first post after law school was as an associate at Walder Perches Hundl & Kerlick in 2017. He moved to Zwicker & Associates, P.C. in 2018 and then joined Sprott Newsom Quattlebaum & Messenger, P.C. in 2019. In 2022 he became an associate at the Law Office of Trent Nichols, PLLC. Those moves reflect a steady progression through small and mid-sized firms across the state.
Jirkovsky is licensed to practice in Texas and in the federal Southern, Eastern and Western Districts of Texas. That set of jurisdictions has put him before both state tribunals and multiple federal courts. His docket experience comes from representing clients in matters that required appearances at different levels and in various districts across Texas.
Colleagues describe him as practical in approach and attentive to procedural detail. He has handled the types of day-to-day litigation tasks that keep cases moving: discovery, motion practice and courtroom filings. He has also worked on filings in federal courts, which brought added procedural complexity. Over time he has taken growing responsibility for case management and client communications.
Today he practices as an associate at the Law Office of Trent Nichols, PLLC. There he continues to represent clients in Texas and in the federal Southern, Eastern and Western Districts of Texas. His current work involves litigation matters handled through the firm’s offices and federal filings in the districts where he is admitted to practice.
He remains active in professional circles since his graduation in 2017, maintaining connections in the Texas legal community. He currently practices as an associate at the Law Office of Trent Nichols, PLLC, handling litigation in Texas and its federal districts.
