About Mathew Paulose

Mathew Paulose Jr. built his legal foundation in classrooms and lecture halls. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the State University of New York at Binghamton in 1995. He then completed his J.D. at Fordham University School of Law in 1998. He pursued further study and holds an LL.M. from New York University School of Law. The sequence of degrees reflects a transition from accounting into law and then into advanced legal study.

He entered practice at the turn of the century and took on a litigation leadership role early. In 2000 he served as Head of Litigation at Koehler & Isaacs LLP. That role placed him at the center of trial preparation, case management and courtroom work for the firm. In 2011 he established and held membership at Paulose & Associates PLLC, which remains his professional home. Over the years he has combined firm-based practice with public service roles.

Public adjudication has been a significant thread in his career. He served as a hearing officer for the State of New York OPWDD in 2016. In 2021 he acted as an administrative law judge for the Department of State for the State of New York. In 2023 he took on two public roles: administrative law judge at the Empire State Development Corporation and hearing officer for the City of Albany. These positions involved presiding over contested cases and making written determinations in administrative hearings. He is admitted to practice in New York and to the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.

His professional memberships reflect a mix of bar and adjudicatory networks. He is active in the American Bar Association and the Westchester County Bar Association. He has been part of the New York City Bar Association Civil Rights Panel since 2014. He also belongs to the National Association of Hearing Officers, a membership he began in 2020 and continues to hold. Those affiliations align with both courtroom practice and administrative adjudication. He practices at Paulose & Associates PLLC, where his work encompasses litigation and matters before administrative tribunals.
