About Mary Madeline
Mary Madeline Roberts built a career that moves between law, finance and the art world. She earned a B.A. in Political Science and Art History from Tufts University in 2011 and a J.D. from The University of Chicago Law School in 2014. The combination of humanities and law shaped an early interest in both transactional work and cultural institutions.
Her professional path began in finance and government. She worked as a financial analyst at Silvercrest Asset Management Group in 2009 and served as a legislative and policy analyst in the Massachusetts House in 2010. Those roles preceded formal legal training and informed how she approaches regulatory and commercial questions. While at law school she took on practical work in corporate transactions, serving as a student-lawyer on the finance team in the Kirkland & Ellis Corporate Transactional Lab in 2013 and completing summer associate placements in 2012 and 2013.
After law school she moved across private practice, financial services and nonprofit work. In 2015 she spent time in the Investment Banking Division at Credit Suisse, and that same year worked as an associate at Bowles Liberman & Newman LLP. She also contributed as a legal writer and editor and led management functions at The Art Fund Association, LLC during her associateship period. In 2016 she took on an in-house role as senior counsel for an international fashion company, a position that brought corporate legal work into a commercial, brand-driven environment.
Her experience spans transactional law, corporate matters and the intersection of business and culture. She has handled matters that required coordination across legal, financial and operational teams. That background gives her practical insight into contract negotiations, corporate governance and compliance issues in both private practice and in-house contexts. She is admitted to practice in New York and has worked with clients and organizations in multiple sectors over the past decade.
Roberts now operates the Law Office of Mary Madeline Roberts, Esq. She provides counsel to businesses and individuals on corporate and commercial matters, transactional engagements and related legal needs. Her current practice concentrates on corporate and commercial law, transactional matters and general counsel services for businesses.
